The 128KB cache card is interchangeable with the 66/33MHz and 80/40MHz Carrera040, making it a sound investment if you decide to upgrade.

System and Tool Requirements: Macintosh IIci, IIsi, IIcx or IIx with System 7.0 or later, optional anti-static grounding strap (available at most computer hardware stores), flat-blade and torx screwdrivers.

Installation: The Carrera040 for the Macintosh IIci plugs directly into the IIci's processor direct slot (PDS), the Carrera040 for the Macintosh IIsi installs with an adapter that plugs directly into the processor direct slot (PDS) and the Carrera040 for the Macintosh IIcx and IIx installs with an adapter that plugs into the CPU socket. Adapter boards are included at no extra cost.

MicroMac Delivers: Carrera040 accelerator board (optionally with FPU), Start-up and Utilities disks, detailed, illustrated Installation Manual and free adapter board (required only for the Macintosh IIsi, IIcx and IIx).

Note: Unfortunately due to certain ROM code restrictions, the Carrera040 does not support RAM Doubler or Virtual Memory. However, for the best performance possible with an accelerator upgrade, MicroMac recommends actual physical RAM rather than virtual RAM which degrades system performance.
