Instead of having the processor chip soldered onto the accelerator card, the PowerMasterPro accelerator employs a small user-installable plug in board, called a grand-daughtercard, with a 604e processor. The PowerMasterPro allows you to install one or two grand-daughter cards with 604e processors. The accelerator plugs into the Processor Card Slot on the logic board of your Mac or Mac clone. User-Defined Bus Speeds: The clock generation circuitry of the PowerMasterPro produces a bus frequency from 40MHz to 67MHz, easily user-selectable in 1MHz steps through the adjustable speed thumbwheels on the board. This bus frequency is common to both processors. Each processor, however, can run at user-selectable, individual speed settings. For example, today you can start with a PowerMasterPro with one 250MHz processor and later add a second processor running at 350MHz, bringing the speed for dual processing applications to 600MHz. The speed thumbwheels are easily accessible on the PowerMasterPro and do not require you to remove the accelerator from the logic board in order to adjust the speed settings. System and Tools Requirements: PowerPC Macintosh 7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500 or 9600 and most of the following Mac clones: PowerComputing®, PowerWave®, PowerTower® PowerCenter® or UMAX® SuperMac S900 with System 7.5 or later, optional anti-static grounding strap (available at most computer hardware stores) and flat-blade screwdriver. Installation: Unplug the current daughterboard installed on the logic board of your Power Mac or Mac clone and install the PowerMasterPro in its place.
