The Quest for Speed and RAM: Today's System software and applications require large amounts of RAM and adequate processing speed. If you are looking to squeeze more power and RAM out of your Macintosh LC, LCII (Performa 400/405/410/430) or Color Classic then the ThunderCachePro is the answer. The ThunderCachePro accelerator gives you the performance and speed you need to efficiently run today's system and sophisticated application software. When your Macintosh is equipped with this accelerator, you have an ultra-fast multimedia capable machine. It feels just like owning a new Macintosh.

32MHz or 50MHz 68030 Speed: The ThunderCachePro accelerator features a fast 32MHz or 50MHz 68030 processor which is ideally suited for tasks such as word processing, database management, desktop publishing and designing Web pages with such applications as Adobe's PageMill/SiteMill.

Fast Math: If you add the optional 32MHz or 50MHz 68882 FPU, you boost the performance level of spreadsheet applications and desktop publishing programs that utilize an FPU. The performance of tasks such as recalculating a spreadsheet or applying special filtering effects in Photoshop (manufactured by Adobe) increase up to 700%/1000% respectively.

Fast Computing with a 32KB wide Cache: The 32KB cache on the ThunderCachePro accelerator serves as a very high speed storage buffer for the most frequently used data. The CPU accesses this cache through a 32-bit wide data path, thus significantly boosting CPU throughput.

More RAM: Who doesn't need more RAM these days? The ThunderPro and ThunderCachePro accelerators add four more SIMM slots (two 16-bit banks) which can be loaded with one or two pairs of 1MB, 2MB or 4MB SIMMs. In addition to your fully loaded logic board (10MB) you can, for example, add one pair of 1MB SIMMs for a total of 12MB, or one pair of 1MB and one pair of 4MB SIMMs for a total of 20MB, or two pairs of 4MB SIMMs for a total of 26MB of memory. You now no longer have to worry about the 'Out of Memory' message while you run many more programs simultaneously. Additionally you can employ RAM Doubler to further increase your memory up to 52MB.

System and Tools Requirements: Macintosh LC, LCII (Performa 400/405/410/430) or Color Classic with System 7.0, 7.1 or 7.5 and an optional anti-static grounding strap (available at most computer hardware stores).

Installation: Installation is easy and takes approximately fifteen minutes. Simply open the case to your computer (on the Color Classic, simply slide the logic board out of the back of the Color Classic's case) and install the accelerator into the processor direct slot (PDS) on the logic board. Software installation consists of dragging one INIT (System Extension) from the accompanying Start-up disk to your System Folder.
